Today, Apple unveiled the latest of the iPhone family- the iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus.
As an iPhone user, I always look forward to these announcements and I am happy to share some of the great new features integrated on the new iPhones.
The iPhone 6s and 6s Plus will be available in a rose gold finish, and all iPhone models are made with a brand new Apple custom alloy that is used in the aerospace industry.
Apple has introduced a feature called 3D Touch, which shows an extra dimension to the screen. This 3D Touch will enable two new ways to interact with the iPhone, which Apple is calling “peek” and “pop.” Peek allows you to press on app icons and other buttons to pull up shortcuts directly into specific features. Pressing on the Camera app, for instance, offers the option to jump right into taking a selfie. Pressing on the Facebook app gives you the option of updating your status, taking a photo, checking in, or starting a search. Pop allows you to pull up overlays of photos and videos without actually having them take over the screen; once you move away, you’ll be right back to where you were before.
You’ll be happy to know that Apple has increased the megapixels on the iPhone camera! They made a huge improvement and are offering a 12-megapixel camera. The camera is promised to maintain high quality images and even capable of capturing video in 4K.
The new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus will be available September 25, 2015 and will come in the exact same prices and configurations as the previous generation, starting at $199 and $299 for the 16GB model.
Apple is also starting a new iPhone Upgrade Program that will allow users to get an unlocked phone that includes Apple Care and costs $32/month every year.
